Hmm...first journal entry. Thought I'll give this a shot.
I normally watch the news every night, its normally the same issues- Middle East, financial hardship- all the things I'm sure we've all been so accustomed to hear. However, after a particularly gruesome half hour of news- I began to think.
Despite the beauty and elegance of our world, there are many horrifying stories and events that happen all around us. Art has a pivotal role among all these tragedies, hardship, heartaches- and that is to help heal those wounds, to cover those scars and to add hope to all our lives. I believe that art is the opposite of sadness- that art has the ability to turn a frown into a smile, to soothe and to comfort.
Because of that, I personally aim to create art that does not necessarily get the most favorites or comments, rather that it touches someone. I see this as a new chapter in my journey down the photography/ art road. Who knows where it'll go and who I'll meet?
Art that moves people. That evokes, inspires, touch.
